Crewe & Nantwich Parliamentary Candidate, Ben Fletcher has been working with Cllr Roger Morris (Crewe Central) to help get to grips with the planning issues that have left Coppenhall Place Residents in a state of limbo.
They have been badly let down by the local Labour and Independent-led Council after essential planning conditions related to potential contaminated land where not carried out by the developer or investigated by the Council (as the Local Planning Authority), prior to the sale and occupation of the houses.
Local residents have found that despite purchasing their home in good faith, they cannot get homes insurance, cannot engage in any kind of permitted development to improve their homes and perhaps most importantly, they cannot sell their properties.
Ben said;
“It is clear the residents have been left in an intolerable situation. The “do-nothing” Council needs to get a grip and be clear what specifically is needed to grant planning permission.”
”The stress and worry this is causing residents is unacceptable. We also nee to ensure these issues cannot be repeated in other developments in both Crewe and Nantwich.”
