Dr Kieran Mullan MP confirmed great news this morning! “Crewe is set to receive £14,148,128 from the fund, putting in in the top 20 out of 101 places set to receive funding.”
“The Conservative Government has announced a multi million pound investment for Crewe as it begins to deliver on its pledge to level up across the country. In a major boost for local high streets, up to £830 million from the Future High Streets Fund will be invested in 72 areas across England. The funding will help these areas transform their high streets into vibrant hubs for future generations and to protect and create thousands of jobs”.
“This government has places like Crewe & Nantwich front and centre now. People are going to see the difference, they are going to see what it means and what they voted for led to change. This funding is just the start.
I am ambitious for what we will get from the Town Deal fund as well which will come on top of this. The whole Town Board has been working very hard on the application we will put in. When Crewe thrives the whole area thrives, everyone benefits in terms of jobs and infrastructure and things for people to do. This is good news all round.”
MCHLG Minister Robert Jenrick announced;
“Today I am announcing £830 million of investment from the #FutureHighStreetsFund - to help our much-loved town centres prosper into the future.
This funding will enable the delivery of ambitious regeneration plans, drawn up by the 72 areas, and fund ambitious new local projects.
High streets are the beating heart of our local communities, and at this difficult time we are investing in their recovery and renewal, while protecting and creating thousands of jobs.”
